Your right of withdrawal
As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase on store.uoa.gr, without stating any reason, within fourteen (14) calendar days from the day you or a third party (other than the carrier) designated by you took physical possession of the product. If your order consists of multiple items delivered separately, the period starts from the delivery of the last item.
This right derives from Greek Law 2251/1994 (Consumer Protection Act), as amended in accordance with EU Directive 2011/83/EU and its amending Directive (EU) 2023/2673.
How to exercise your right of withdrawal
To exercise your right, simply notify us with a clear statement before the above period expires. You have two options:
- Electronically, via the “Withdraw” button that you will find in the footer of every page, on the “My Account” page, on the order tracking page, as well as on the dedicated page at store.uoa.gr/en/withdrawal. Submission requires a double confirmation and you will automatically receive an acknowledgment email.
- By written statement to our address by post, or by email to store@uoa.gr, using the template provided at the end of this page.
Both methods are legally valid and equivalent. The burden of proof that the right has been exercised lies with you — for this reason we recommend the electronic button, which produces an automated, time-stamped acknowledgment.
Consequences of withdrawal
If you withdraw validly and within the deadline, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of any additional costs resulting from your own choice of a delivery method other than the standard type offered), without undue delay and in any event within fourteen (14) calendar days from the day on which we are informed of your decision.
Reimbursement will be made using the same means of payment used for the initial transaction, unless we expressly agree otherwise. In no case will you incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods — whichever occurs first.
Returning the product
You must return or hand over the goods to us without undue delay and in any event within fourteen (14) calendar days from the day on which you informed us of your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the fourteen-day period expires.
You bear the direct cost of returning the goods. Indicatively, the cost of return through our partner courier (ELTA Courier) is estimated at approximately €5.00 within Greece for standard shipments and may vary; the exact cost depends on the carrier and shipping destination.
You are liable only for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. In other words, you may inspect and try the goods as you would in a physical store, but not use them beyond that.
Exceptions — When the right of withdrawal does not apply
According to article 3θ of Greek Law 2251/1994, the right of withdrawal does not apply, in particular, in the following cases:
- Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised (e.g. items printed with your name or made-to-order).
- Sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed after delivery.
- Sealed audio or sealed video recordings or sealed computer software which were unsealed after delivery.
- Newspapers, periodicals or magazines (with the exception of subscription contracts for the supply of such publications).
- Digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, if performance has begun with your prior express consent and your express acknowledgment that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal.
At store.uoa.gr, the main categories subject to the right of withdrawal are: books, stationery and office supplies, clothing (t-shirts, sweatshirts, scarves, caps, etc.) provided they have not been worn and are in original condition, accessories, gifts, home and decor items. Not subject to withdrawal are personalised or made-to-order products, as well as any digital subscriptions after your express consent to begin service delivery. Each product page in the eshop clearly indicates whether it is excluded from the right of withdrawal.
